Councilwoman Judy Waldman invites Homestead residents to participate in 2013 Veterans Day activities. Being the daughter of a United States disabled veteran, Councilwoman Waldman knows our freedom and safety come at a price, which is paid by the brave men and women that serve our country.
Please show your support at the yearly Veterans Day Parade sponsored by the VFW Post 4127 and the American Legion Post 43 on Monday, November 11th at 12:00 noon in Downtown Homestead. The parade will begin on Flagler and Krome Avenue, go North on Krome until Campbell Drive and East on Campbell Drive until Flagler Avenue. This parade, honoring the memory of the men and women who have fought to defend our nation and liberty is the oldest and, usually, the largest Veterans Day celebration in Miami-Dade County. The parade will follow the ceremony in Losner Park which begins at 11 a.m.
On Sunday, November 10th Councilwoman Waldman will host a special commemorative service at Palms Woodlawn Cemetery located at 27100 South Dixie Highway at 4:00 pm. Following the service, all present will assist in placing flags on the graves of United Stated Veterans.
“It is so important to never forget these men and women who fought and died for our freedom as well as those who continue the fight to keep it,” said Councilwoman Waldman.
