Hundreds of people attended the Mexican-American Council Festival of the Mexican and Central American Independence on Saturday, September 15 at Harris Field Park. Councilman Elvis Maldonado proudly joined Homestead’s Mexican-American and Central American communities as they gathered to celebrate their heritage and commemorate this Independence Day Festival.
“It is an honor to join the celebration of Homestead’s Mexican and Central American heritage,” said Councilman Maldonado, who participated in the event’s Civic Engagement Ceremony. “I commend the Mexican-American Council for organizing this event that celebrates an important part of our history and our community.”
