On the 28th of September, 2013 at Blakey Park, Councilman Jimmie L Williams III and the Southwest Advisory Committee will be working together to host a Free Health Fair. This Health Fair will inform the local people of homestead about life with HIV and provide health services such as blood pressure and diabetes screenings, getting educated on it, as well as many other health care services and resources. HIV testing will be confidential, free and open for everyone to get tested.
“HIV is an epidemic that can spread and damage lives. HIV can happen to anyone; regardless of age, sex, or race” said Councilman Jimmie L. Williams III. With this Health Fair, Councilman Williams and the Southwest Advisory Committee aim to arm the public with the knowledge of how to prevent HIV, stop the spread and educate our Homestead community on all the local community health services and resources available to them.
We welcome the Homestead community to join us for a fun and informative day free to the public. There will be free food and an open park to bring the kids for fun and play. The health fair will be from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Blakey Park, located at 600 SW 14th Ave, Homestead, FL 33030.
