To celebrate Earth Day and also increase community pride and beautify its neighborhoods, the City of Homestead will be having its annual city-wide cleanup initiative with “Keep Homestead Beautiful Cleanup Day” on Saturday, April 22, 2023. All residents are encouraged to organize their own neighborhood cleanups by recruiting their neighbors, family, and friends. Residents can also join the City of Homestead, along with Code Compliance and Community Police at the Homestead Sports Complex
Lake, located at 1601 SE 28th Avenue, Homestead, FL 33035, starting at 9 am. The City of Homestead and volunteers will work together to clean up the surrounding areas by picking up litter and debris. For more information about the event, email parkevents@cityofhomestead.com.
Keep Homestead Beautiful Cleanup Day is part of the City of Homestead’s ongoing Keep Homestead Beautiful initiative that encourages residents and visitors alike to take care of our community by picking up litter, cleaning graffiti, recycling, and planting native trees and plants. The cleanup also represents the culmination of an effort to reduce illegal dumping through education and enforcement. The City of Homestead asks all residents to report illegal dumping violations to Code Compliance at 305-224-5580 and Homestead Police at 305-247-1535.
