The City of Homestead is an entitlement recipient of federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and receives an annual allocation of funds. This year the City is developing, its five year Consolidated Plan for FY 2023-2027 along with the FY 2023-2024 Annual Action Plan. The City proposed allocation is approximately $769,583 (same as its FY 2022-2023 allocation.)
The City of Homestead Finance Department is facilitating a second pre-development meeting to solicit public input for the preparation of the Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan at the following location and date:
William F. Dickinson Community Center
160 I N Krome Avenue, Homestead FL 33030
Date: Thursday, March 9, 2023
Time: 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
The purpose of these funds is to provide decent housing, a suitable living environment and better economic opportunities for the low- to moderate-income residents within the City of Homestead. In order to receive these funds, HUD requires the City to develop and submit a Consolidated Plan every five years and an Annual Action Plan each year. The Annual Action Plan identifies the proposed projects for federal funding for the program year and shows a linkage between projects and the specific objectives developed to address the priorities needs identified in the Consolidated Plan.
