Notice is hereby given that the City of Homestead is offering citizens the opportunity to make comments on the proposed grant application for the Rebuild Florida General Infrastructure Program competitive solicitation issued by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) with funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block (CDBG) to address unmet infrastructure needs related to protection of critical facilities. The project will consist of mitigation activities within the Southwest Neighborhood area of the City of Homestead, FL. These activities include the installation of new potable and stormwater infrastructure as well as installing underground utilities to provide resilient water and power during an emergency. The City is requesting $17,246,995. The program does not require matching funds from the City.
The comment period begins on Thursday, August 27, 2020 and ends on Thursday, September 10, 2020. All comments must be submitted to Padgettj@cityofhomestead.com and must be received no later than close of business on September 10, 2020 to be included with the application package submitted to the State of Florida.
