[ARCHIVED] City Announces Homestead’s New Normal Effective May 18th

New Normal Graphic Green

Beginning Monday, May 18, 2020, certain businesses that were closed due to COVID-19 will be allowed to reopen with restrictions on capacity and requirements for social distancing and enhanced sanitation that will help to reduce the spread of COVID-19 while allowing Homestead’s economy to rebound.  In general, the following types of businesses will be allowed to reopen at 50% indoor capacity if face coverings are worn, six foot social distancing is enforced, and additional hygienic precautions are taken: restaurants, retail, nail and hair salons, barbershops, arts & cultural institutions, offices, warehouses, manufacturing, and trade & logistics.  The following businesses will not be allowed to reopen at this time: gyms, theaters, bowling alleys, bars and nightclubs, and pools.

Additionally, the City has opened the following parks for limited use: Blakey Park, Audubon Park, South Audubon Drive, Mayor Roscoe Warren Municipal Park, James Archer Smith Park, and Homestead Sports Complex.  These City parks are open from 7am to 8pm for passive use such as walking, jogging, biking, or rollerblading and open space picnics with groups of 10 or less.  Other City Facilities will remain closed to the public.
