The Day of the Young Child event invited families to enjoy a host of interactive, early-childhood educational activities with a focus on the mental, physical, and emotional development of children from birth to eight years of age. More 50 groups participated in this year’s event including the Miami Museum of Science, the Miami Children’s Museum, Zoo Miami, The Children’s Movement of Florida, and Everglades National Park.
“It was an honor to participate in this year’s Day of the Young Child event,” said Councilman Maldonado. “Children are our future and it is important to create programs and events that focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize all the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. Miami Dade College’s Early Childhood Education Program does an excellent job of preparing and equipping teachers with all the experience they need and they also did an excellent job with this very successful event.”
