On January 22, 2020 the Homestead City Council appointed Cate McCaffrey as the City Manager.  Previously, the Council made a unanimous appointment of Ms. McCaffrey as the Interim City Manager.  She has been an integral part of city administration since 2014 and boasts an impressive 40 year career in public service.

“I count it an honor and a privilege to continue to work with this Council and this staff, serving this great City,” said McCaffrey.

Ms. McCaffrey came to the City of Homestead in 2014 as an Assistant City Manager and has supervised all City Departments.   She worked hand-in-hand with the City Manager and City Council to implement an economic development plan in the city’s Historic Downtown District including the construction of a new City Hall, a new Police Headquarters, and the restoration of the Seminole Theatre.  All of the projects were completed on-time and on-budget.
