Four students from The Charter School at Waterstone, who were the winners of the Homestead Academic Quiz Show pilot, were recognized by Councilman Elvis R. Maldonado during a special presentation of the April 17 City Council meeting.
“As the winners of the Homestead Academic Show pilot, these children exemplify the academic success of our schools. They also bring pride to their own school, The Charter School at Waterstone,” said Councilman Maldonado liaison to the Homestead Education Committee. “I am proud to honor them today and recognize them for their great work and for helping me and the Education Committee foster talent through healthy competition. They proved that our Academic Quiz Show program will be a great way for children to learn in a fun game!”
Councilman Maldonado and the Homestead Education Committee recently hosted a pilot of the game show in which students from The Charter School at Waterstone and Campbell Drive Middle School participated in the competition.
