[ARCHIVED] Councilwoman Judy Waldman Congratulates Winners of the AYSO Section 14 State Games Tournament

Councilwoman Judy Waldman congratulated the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Homestead Boys and Girls in the U-19 Boys, U-10 Boys, and U-10 Girls Division for winning the 2013 AYSO Section 14 State Games Tournament in Wellington, Florida on January 19-21, 2013.

“I am proud to recognize these amazing athletes, coaches, and team managers for what they have accomplished,” said Councilwoman Waldman, who is the Council Parks and Recreation Liaison. “Today we honor them for representing our city and making us proud. They played against the best and came back champions!”

During a Special Presentation at the March 20th Homestead City Council Meeting, the following players were awarded certificates of appreciation for their excellent performance in the state championship: U-19 Boys Division players Humberto Blanco, Juan Diaz, Jose Villa, Kristian Sandoval Camarrenas, Cristian Corona, Rey Aguilar, Frankie Maldonado, Yunior Acosta, Luis Betancourt, Kevin King, Jeffrey Urrea, Christopher Jaramillo, Nicholas Norton, Gustavo Juarez, Elmer Alvarado, Chad Jarrin, and Adam Ruarte. U-19 Boys Division Head Coach Marlon Aguilar also received a certificate congratulating him on his championship coaching skills and leading his team to the AYSO Section 14 Soccer Title.

From the U-10 Girls Division the following players were honored: Erin McGlothlin, Camilla Garcia, Yulianna Flores, Alexi Marin, Siena Summers, Kayla Saldana, Rebeka Mejia, Krystal Martinez, Aliyah Garcia, and Carina Leal. U-10 Girls Division Head Coach Michael McGlothlin, Assistant Coach Darleen Urrea, and Team Manager Catherine McGlothlin, also received certificates congratulating them on their coaching and management skills.

From the U-10 Boys Division certificates of appreciation were awarded to Miguel Avalos, Adrian De La Rosa, Massimo Trovato, Jordan Bloom, Sebastian Melguizo, Nicolas Alcala, Erick Martinez, Evereth Chacon, Ezekial Saenz, and Brandon Gamino. U-10 Boys Division Head Coach Marcello Trovato, Assistant Coach Sam De La Rosa, and Team Manager Karla Bloom, also received certificates congratulating them on their coaching and management skills.

The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) was established in the Los Angeles area in 1964 with nine teams. It was the dream of a group of devoted soccer enthusiasts who started the organization in a garage. Today, AYSO has more than 50,000 teams and more than 650,000 players.
