[ARCHIVED] City Gathering Public Input on Affordable Housing at Public Meetings

Affordable Housing Public Meetings

The City of Homestead will host two public meetings to gather input on affordable housing for its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 5-year consolidated plan.  The first meeting, intended to gather input from citizens, will take place Friday, April 27, 2018 at 6:30PM at the William F. Dickinson Community Center (1601 N. Krome Ave., Homestead, FL 33030).  The second meeting, intended to gather input from non-profit organizations, will take place Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2:00PM at the Phichol Williams Community Center (951 SW 4th Street, Homestead, FL 33030).

The City of Homestead’s CDBG Program was established to address local housing and community development needs.  It has been operated locally since 2008 when the City’s population reached 50,000, qualifying the City to receive CDBG funds directly from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  The purpose of the CDBG program is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for person of low and moderate income.

Earlier this year, Homestead launched an online survey about affordable housing, which is available at  Call 305-224-4555 for more information
