The City of Homestead is collaborating with CareerSource South Florida to put the focus on local students this summer. Together, they will help find job opportunities for 61 young Homestead residents between the ages of 15 and 18.
“Building our community, while offering meaningful on-the-job experience to the future workforce is critical to supporting the efforts in the City of Homestead and to enhancing the economic growth of our communities,” said Rick Beasley, Executive Director of CareerSource South Florida.
Eligible students will be chosen through a lottery process. They must be between the ages of 15 and 18, live in Homestead, and purchase free or reduced lunch or be part of a family that receives TANF.
As part of the collaboration, the City of Homestead will provide $20,000 to CareerSource South Florida’s Summer Youth Employment Program.
