The newly restored Seminole Theatre located at 18 N. Krome Avenue will host its first movie premiere Tuesday, April 26th at 6pm when Mayor Jeff Porter presents his 2016 State of the City: The Excitement Continues. The short film will showcase the milestone accomplishments of the past year and provide an update on future projects for Downtown Homestead.
“Much like last year’s Building Homestead, this year’s presentation is a fun and accessible way to update our residents and neighbors on the exciting projects developing in Homestead” said Mayor Jeff Porter. “One of our most important achievements in Downtown Homestead was the reopening the Seminole Theatre so it’s very fitting that we’re inviting the community to enjoy the unique venue for the premiere of The Excitement Continues.”
The Excitement Continues features the people that contribute to Homestead’s success every day—from business owners to residents to City Staff and Elected Officials. Many of the accomplishments made in the past year were possible in part because of the May 2014 Bond Referendum, where voters showed overwhelming support for Downtown Homestead revitalization projects.
The premiere of The Excitement Continues is open to the public and attendees will enjoy catered hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar immediately following the screening. To attend, you must RSVP at (305) 224-4455 or rsvp@cityofhomestead.com.
Following the premiere, The Excitement Continues can also be seen on the City of Homestead’s local access channel (Comcast 77, ATT in the Menu under Government TV), Facebook, and Vimeo.
