Dennis Berry of Berry’s Paint, Hardware, and Flooring, Inc. brought new meaning to the phrase, “Most Valuable Player,” through his generous actions when the South Dade Senior High School Athletic Department suffered theft and vandalism of equipment and facilities. It was for this reason that Councilman Elvis Maldonado honored Mr. Berry during the April 2015 Special Council Presentations.
Last summer, the South Dade Senior High School Athletics Department had equipment stolen and facilities vandalized. In the wake of this incident, Councilman Maldonado sent out a call for donations to help the school’s sports teams recover. Dennis Berry generously volunteered services and materials from his business for the cause.
“Mr. Berry is an outstanding member of our community,” said Councilman Maldonado. “His generosity to these teams and students is a strong reminder of what can be accomplished when you act out of the goodness of your heart.”
