This recognition is one of the most prestigious honors, presented to African-Americans who have broken down years of historical barriers in the Homestead and Florida City Communities. The MLK Pioneer Award pays homage to pioneers who have helped pave the way for others to achieve milestones.

The Broadway musical I Have A Dream has something for everyone, a mix of sheer entertainment with profound education. The Phichol E. Williams Sr. Community Center will offer community residents a newly-created playhouse and seven multi-media performances of I Have A Dream that feature original choreography, gospel choir, historical drama, multi-screen stage projections and an energetic, multi-ethnic cast, ages 7 to 74 years.
