Community Service Project and Events

The City of Homestead Mayor’s Youth Council diligently partakes in civic engagement and community service. The council takes part in numerous projects throughout the year and actively leads and creates events of our own. Such projects include the “Government Relief Project,” “Tend with Teddy,” “MLK Care Package Distribution,” and “Martin Luther King Jr. Art Gala.” Such projects bring positive change to our immediate vicinity and are a small part of what fosters our community to grow.

As ambassadors of the youth, giving back to the local community is at the core of what we do. Our council members gain real-world experience as active members of the community and as representatives of Homestead. The skills and virtues of leadership, action, and service follow our council members well after they have graduated. The impact we have on our city is always for the better whether it be in joint or solo projects.
