Overview
The Homestead Police Athletic League (PAL) is a youth crime prevention program geared toward involving youth in athletics and academics. The PAL operates out of the Chief Curtis K. Ivy PAL Gymnasium located at 600 Southwest 14 Avenue, which is in the southwest section of Homestead.
Who Is Welcome
The PAL is open to all children in Homestead and currently operates the following programs:
- Basketball – Boys and girls ages 8 – 14 years old
- The program does have a competitive travel team for advanced players but does provide fundamental instruction throughout the year for beginning players. The travel program begins in December and runs through July.
- Wrestling – Boys and girls ages 6 – 14 years old
- The wrestling program operates January through July and provides instruction for competitive wrestlers as well as recreational wrestlers.
