Animal Control

Overview

The City of Homestead animal control is dedicated to the health and welfare of animals in the City of Homestead. The animal control officer responds to calls for stray or deceased animals, animal cruelty, as well as nuisance violations.

Definitions of Terms

Animal Cruelty

Animals must have updated vaccines, be in a healthy condition, and have access to food, water, and shelter.

Animal Limitations

Four dogs (six months and older) are allowed for each residence. No fowl or livestock is allowed in residential areas.

Hours of Service

Any calls outside of the posted Animal Control Officer hours are referred to Miami-Dade Animal Services.
