All businesses must have a Business Tax Receipt / Business License and renew it annually. Any person who maintains a permanent business location or branch office within the City of Homestead, engaging in or managing any business, profession or occupation, must obtain and maintain a Business Tax Receipt, also known as a Business License.

Miami-Dade County Certificate of Use
All businesses must be reviewed by the Miami-Dade County Environmental Resources Management (DERM), which is located at the Permitting and Inspection Center, 11805 SW 26 St Miami FL 33175. DERM approval required prior to issuance of local Business Tax Receipt.
Applicants must upload the Certificate of Use application and supporting documents and the City of Homestead BTR application approved by Zoning at https://www.miamidade.gov/Apps/RER/EPSPortal. Supporting documents may include a copy of the lease showing the square footage of the business, water and sewer bill, letter of intent, copy of license of previous use, and any other documents you may have to assist in the review. Depending on the proposed use additional documents may be requested.
