24,000 HPS Energy Households Without Power Due to Hurricane Irma

There are currently 24,000 households serviced by HPS Energy without power due to Hurricane Irma. Extremely dangerous conditions posed by sustained tropical force winds make it unsafe for restoration crews to begin work at this time. Once conditions become safe and crews can start to assess damage, HPS can provide restoration timelines. Prior to Hurricane Irma's arrival, HPS Energy secured mutual aid agreements with utility crews outside of Hurricane Irma's path. Those crews will begin traveling to Homestead Monday, September 11, 2017 to assist in power restoration efforts. HPS Energy will concentrate first on restoring power to emergency services such as police, fire, and hospitals.

Residents can report downed power lines and other damage to electrical facilities at www.cityofhomestead.com/outage or 305-224-4800.
